Since founding the firm in 1990, Howard has continually provided tax, accounting, and business advisory services to domestic and international middle market clients. In addition, he has experience participating in litigation matters, including matrimonial, bankruptcy, embezzlement, damage claims, and shareholder disputes, as well as providing due diligence services for merger and acquisition transactions. In his almost (40) years of experience, Howard has also represented privately held companies and individuals in various civil and criminal tax matters at the Federal, State, and City levels and has served as a court-appointed Special Fiscal Agent.

Howard received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University (1984). He successfully passed the Uniform CPA examination on his initial sitting (1985). When he is not training for his next marathon (to date Howard has completed (16) marathons including: Philadelphia – 3 hours, 24 minutes; Chicago – 3 hours, 27 minutes; Steamtown – 3 hours, 27 minutes; New York City – 3 hours, 29 minutes; Marine Corp – 3 hours, 29 minutes; and Boston – 3 hours, 30 minutes). Howard is building and developing real estate, experimenting with new, atypical sports (Howard has earned a black belt in Taekwondo); visiting Stanford University, where his daughter, Shana, is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree; and relaxing with his dog, Gus.

Tim’s areas of focus include business advising, tax planning, and providing consulting to business owners, individuals, estates, and trusts, as well as representing clients in tax compliance and controversial work; this includes tax collection matters and tax audits, in addition to other sensitive matters. Tim also provides forensic services, such as supporting attorneys in litigation and compliance disputes.
Prior to joining the firm in 1997, Tim received a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College). He received a Masters of Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from LaSalle University. Outside of the firm, Tim cherishes time with his wife and three children. He is also an avid automobile enthusiast who enjoys running, history, and following college & professional sports.

Wes joined the firm in 2005. His areas of focus include tax compliance, providing business development and tax strategies to a diverse clientele, and business evaluations.
Wes received a Bachelors degree in Accounting from The College of New Jersey. When he is not relaxing with his wife and three children, Wesley enjoys participating in a variety of athletically inclined hobbies, including soccer, running (with his dog, Chase), crabbing, and watching hockey.

Since joining the firm in 2010, Dave has provided expertise in the preparation of corporate, partnership, fiduciary, exempt organization, inheritance & estate, and individual tax returns, as well as tax planning and business advising services to clients. Dave also has extensive experience representing clients in Federal and State audit examinations as well as providing attorneys with litigation support. Dave graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Rowan University. Outside of the office, Dave is an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He enjoys spending time with his wife & son, family, and miniature golden doodle Cruz as well as pickup basketball, golf, and fishing.

Bill joined the firm in 2017. Bill has experience in tax return preparation for Corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Trusts and Estate tax returns. Bill also has experience with Reviews, Audits and Compilations for various businesses and nonprofits.

Bill received a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Desales University. An avid sports fan, Bill’s hobbies include watching the Steelers, Sixers and Pirates. Bill also enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, movies and playing with their two Australian Shepherds, Otto and Ollie.

Greg joined the firm in 2016. As a recent college graduate, Greg is currently gaining experience in all aspects of accounting, tax compliance, and tax controversy. His current area of concentration is preparing individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and estate tax returns.
Greg received a Bachelors degree in Accounting from The College of New Jersey. When not in the office or studying for his CPA exam, Greg enjoys attending concerts; watching baseball & football; playing golf; and participating in fantasy sports leagues.

Harvey has a passion for numbers, and that’s why he attended an internship program at Virtus Group, LLC from May 2013 to May 2015. His employer helped him gain experience in bookkeeping and staff accounting. From assisting with audits to preparing books for corporations and partnerships, he also reviewed bank statements and payroll reports and ensure that all information was booked into the correct general ledger accounts. After the internship ended, Harvey decided to work for Virtus Group, LLC on a full-time basis. Some of his key responsibilities included handling inbound and outbound communications for tax and finance-related issues. In addition, he was appointed as the primary contact and lead accountant for all assigned clients.
It was an eye-opening experience for him as he got to work with legal firms, international companies, and other external counterparts for clients. Helping clients minimize the tax impact by researching and executing alternative transaction structures also brought a sense of satisfaction. To further develop his skills, Harvey joined Breslauer, Rutman & Anderson, Inc. in November 2018. As a tax accountant and business manager, he learned how to prepare individual, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns; year-end journal entries; quarterly and annual consolidated budgets; liquidity analysis, and much more. He is happy to be back at Virtus Group, LLC and ready to apply what he has learned to drive results.
Aside from his professional life, Harvey enjoys playing golf, rugby, soccer, and snowboarding. He also loves to travel and typically rides his motorcycle when the weather is nice.

Sonu joined our practice in 2022. Prior to becoming a member of VGroup she gained experience at other public accounting firms including several years as a Tax Manager at Ernst & Young. She has extensive experience in tax compliance for individuals as well as hedge fund and investment partnerships. Sonu earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Queens College/CUNY (2004).

Nency joined the firm in 2019 as an intern. Nency graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and MIS (2021) and joined the firm on a full-time basis. Nency has MIS experience as well as experience in business and individual tax compliance and tax controversy matters

When Nency is not studying she enjoys making henna tattoos, Traveling, Playing Badminton, and continuing to learn

Gerard recently joined the firm in 2023. Gerard has extensive experience in complex tax
return preparation for Corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Trusts and Estate tax
returns. Gerard assists clients with tax planning and projections to plan for a successful
future. He also has experience representing clients with the Internal Revenue Service and
various State taxing agencies for complex tax controversy cases.
Gerard received a Bachelors degree in Accounting as well as a Masters degree in Business
Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University. Outside of work, Gerard enjoys
spending time with his wife, son and two daughters as well as volunteering for Habitat for
Humanity. A previous high school tennis and basketball coach, Gerard also enjoys
watching and participating in all types of sports.

Kathleen McMahon is the Controller for the Virtus Group, LLC.; she joined the firm in 2017. With extensive experience in data entry, record keeping, and computer operation, Kathleen currently focuses on the Firm’s billing, developing forecasts, and generating financials.

Kathleen received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kean University, in addition to an Associates degree from Middlesex County College. A mother of two grown sons, Kathleen enjoys road trips with her husband and two sons through the rural areas of the United States, visiting historic sites, running, and spending downtime with her family.

Di joined the firm in 2000. Having spent the majority of her career in office administration and loan processing, Dionisia’s current areas of focus include the formation and closure of businesses, the organization & maintenance of client files, providing support in tax controversy and litigation matters, as well as preparation of financial statements, and the sustainment of client associate relationships.

Dionisia studied Journalism at the State University of New York–Binghamton for two years; she later transferred to Mercer County Community College, where she received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration. Active in her local church, Dionisia enjoys traveling with her family, spending time with her two wonderful sons, reading and assisting others wherever and whenever she can.

Amber, an experienced Bookkeeper, recently joined the firm. Amber has extensive
experience in office management, bookkeeping and data entry for a variety of types of
businesses and holds a certification in QuickBooks Online. Amber assists with client
bookkeeping needs as well as internal bookkeeping for the firm.
Amber received a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Business Management, from
Delaware Valley University. Outside of work, Amber takes care of a large Equine facility,
and competes in various states along the east coast showing through the American
Quarter Horse Association.
